Terms of Service

In short. The site is a free, best-effort microphone check. It works in your browser, sends us nothing, and gives no guarantees about the results. Be sensible, don't abuse it, and don't rely on it for anything important.

1 · Acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of https://testmymic.online/ ("the site"). By using the site you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

2 · What the service is

The site is a free diagnostic tool. When you run a probe, it asks your browser for microphone permission, opens your selected input device, and measures signal level for a few seconds. All processing happens locally in your browser; the service consists of delivering the page to you. The site is provided free of charge and may display advertising (see section 7).

3 · No professional advice

Results from the probe are indicative only. They are not a calibration, not a measurement standard, and not a substitute for professional audio equipment testing, acoustic consulting, hearing assessment, or medical advice. Decisions made on the basis of a probe result — equipment purchases, recordings, broadcasts, calls — are yours alone.

4 · Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • interfere with or disrupt the site, its hosting infrastructure, or any advertising served on it;
  • scrape, mirror, or resell the site as your own service, or present it inside another product without permission;
  • use automated systems to access the site in a way that sends more requests than a reasonable person browsing would;
  • attempt to bypass or block advertising except through the consent and opt-out mechanisms described in the Privacy Policy;
  • use the site for any unlawful purpose.

5 · Your browser, your device

The probe depends on your browser's microphone permissions, your operating system's input settings, and your hardware. We have no access to, and no control over, any of these. Denying permission, browser restrictions, hardware faults, or OS settings may prevent the probe from working — that is between you, your browser, and your operating system.

6 · Intellectual property

The site — its design, text, code, and graphics — is owned by its operator and protected by copyright. You may view and use the site as intended; you may not reproduce or redistribute substantial parts of it without permission.

7 · Advertising and third-party services

The site displays advertising served by Google and other vendors, and embeds web fonts from Google Fonts. These services are governed by the respective providers' own terms and policies; how they use cookies and data is described in the Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the content of advertisements, which is chosen by the ad networks, or for third-party sites you reach from links on the site.

8 · Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT PROBE RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

9 · Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SITE'S OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED EUR 100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US TO USE THE SITE, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS; IN THAT CASE THESE LIMITS APPLY TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED.

10 · Availability and changes

The site is provided on a best-effort basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time, and we may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows the current version; continued use after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.

11 · Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
